Wonders of the world are collections of the best and most spectacular natural wonders and structures made by humans that are present on the world. As time passes, the lists of wonders of the world change. The wonders were selected with the sets of standards which represents perfection. Indeed, there are several wonders of the worlds included in the list however there were only seven wonders chosen out of these numerous wonders on the list.

Seven Wonders of the World in Land

In the ancient Seven Wonders of the World, the Great Pyramid of Giza found in Egypt was placed first in the list. Great Pyramid of Giza was one of the man made structure which show perfection on how it was built. Pyramids were made as tomb for dead Pharaohs and other high ranks officials. Wealth of the Pharaoh can be found inside the pyramid as well as his life story through wall paintings or writings. Hanging Gardens of Babylon placed in the second position which was followed by the Statue of Zeus at Olympia. Fourth in place is Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, fifth is Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus followed by Colossus of Rhodes on the sixth position and finally Lighthouse of Alexandria. The ancient seven wonders of the world were made by famous historian, Herodotus.

During the medieval age, the list of Seven Wonders of the World changed. Stonehenge replaced the pyramid of Giza. Stonehenge was used by early people as observatory. This structure were made by ancient people and science had the trouble on explaining how these ancient people could possibly let those big and heavy stone stand on its own. Second in the list is the Colosseum in Rome, this structure were used by Romans as means of entertainment whenever fight of best warrior were held. Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa was the third place and Great Wall of China followed the list. This manmade structure of China was built to protect Chinese from invasion of neighboring conquerors. It was built during the Qin Dynasty and was continued by other dynasties. Porcelain Tower of Nanjing in the fifth place and then Hagia Sophia. Leaning Tower of Pisa was the last wonders of the world.

Seven Wonders of the World in Underwater

A group of divers, CEDAM International also listed seven wonders that can be found underwater. They have studied all marine structures and picked up seven best wonders in it. This seven wonders were then featured at National Aquarium in Washington DC. Palau placed at the top which was followed by Belize Barrier Reef on the second position. Great Barrier Reef was on the third place and then Deep Sea Vents on the fourth position. Fifth was Galapagos Island and then Lake Baikal and finally Northern Red Sea.

These Seven Wonders of the World in the industry were seven great engineering of the 19th and 20th centuries. These Seven wonders are as follows, Bell Rock Lighthouse, Brooklyn Bridge, London sewerage system, First Transcontinental Railroad, Panama Canal, Hoover Dam
